MIP In High School

Placement for students entering high school

Students completing the MIP program in the 8th grade will be automatically enrolled into 9th grade at the high school in their home school attendance area. They will be given the opportunity to request an intra-district (via the Open Lottery) into any other FUSD high school, providing there is sufficient space to accept them. Since 2019, our current 9th graders were automatically accepted into Mission San Jose High School as a result of a ‘pilot acceptance program’ approved by the school board in 2019. We hope to make this program permanent for all future MIP students. If it does become permanent, all MIP students entering 9th grade will be automatically enrolled in Mission San Jose High School, unless they explicitly request returning to their home attendance area high school.
